Provincial Grand Master

R.W.Bro.Brian C. Wareham

To all of you who have turned to this Website I send greetings and warmest good wishes.

The Provincial Grand Master

Many of you will already be members of the Order of Freemasonry, either here or overseas. Some will be members of our own particular Order and to those I extend fraternal greetings from all Mark Masons in the Province of Sussex. To those who are not members of our Order, I also extend fraternal greetings with the hope that sometime you may permit yourself to extend your researches beyond the Craft. The Mark Degree is a most interesting one, as thousands of Brethren have already found; it can give you an insight into the working practices of operative masons in years past. Among Mark Master Masons you will ever find friends.

However, I am sure that many of you are not Masons at all but have just visited the site for interest and information. I hope you will find our pages informative, that you will possibly wish to learn more; if so, get in touch with us or look at other Masonic sites.

If you have visited this particular site before, you will have realised that certain things have changed since then. The Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. David B. McLean, retired in January 2007 and I was appointed by the Most Worshipful Grand Master, H.R.H. Prince Michael of Kent, to succeed him as the sixteenth Provincial Grand Master. Consequently I was installed by the Pro Grand Master at a ceremony in Worthing on 3rd May 2007. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master is now W.Bro. C. Martin Wilson and the new Assistant Provincial Grand Master is W.Bro. Nigel H. Potter.

I am in charge of both the Order of Mark Master Masons and the Degree of Royal Ark Mariner in Sussex; although Sussex is normally split into East and West, the masonic Province encompasses both parts. We stretch from Chichester in the West to Rye in the East and Crawley in the North. Altogether there are 37 Mark Lodges and 21 Royal Ark Mariner Lodges.

I hope you will enjoy surfing our Website; do give us your opinions when you sign the guest book.
