Hello again my Brothers. I am writing to you on the history of my Lodge and Chapter. Warren Lodge was first organized in the Spring of 1867 under the National Grand Lodge of the State of Pennsylvania. Granted a Charter, to be known and styled "Warren Lodge No. 9, F.&A.M. of Washington D.C. Named in honor of General Warren, an American General in the Revolutionary War and a Past Grand Master of Masons of Massachusetts.
After four years, the Lodge feeling it's interest could be best served if affiliated in the Jurisdiction of the District of Columbia, petitioned the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia (now the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F.&A.M. In and for the District of Columbia) for a charter. This being granted December 27, 1871, the Lodge became known as Warren Lodge No. 8, F.& A.M. And on January 17, 1882, The Most Worshipful Grand Master John F. Cook, together with the officers of the Grand Lodge, presented the Charter to the Lodge.
As I said before, I am a member of Keystone Chapter No. 11, Holy Royal Arch Masons, Prince Hall Affiliation, Washington, D.C. We were organized December 27, 1881, in Washington, D.C.
Thank you for showing interest in a fellow brother.
Fraternal regards,
Bro.Joseph S. Alford

Message: I like your page - congratulations on your efforts. As you may be aware, in the State of N.S.W. there was a consolidation of many Masonic Orders in 1978 under the United Supreme Grand Chapter of Royal Arch & Mark Masons for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Primarily these were the Scottish R.A.C. and the N.S.W. R.A.C. & Mark degrees [stemming from the old E.C. prior to 1888]. Under that body has been consolidated the following Orders, Ark Mariners, Lodge in Council and the Cryptic series. Although born in Blackpool, Lancs. I am currently a member of what the second oldest Scottish R.A.C. in New South Wales - that being St. Andrews-Phoenix N° 2 which has the old Scottish St. Andrews Mark Lodge absorbed within it. The O.S.M. is still a seperate entity [I am a Past Grand Guide in that] and in my spare time I am putting our U.G.L. of N.S.W. Library on computer as well as being a member of our U.G.L.'s Internet Steering Committee. My Craft rank is Past Junior Grand Warden and I am a Past Master of Lodge Sir Joseph Banks N° 300 U.G.L. of N.S.W. On Saturday we will be carrying out a Mark Master Mason Installation at St. Andrews-Phoenix N°2. I would be interested to receive news of your Mark Masonry in Surrey - I already get a fair amount of information from the Prov. of West Lancs. through contacts in my School lodge.
Fraternal greetings
