Message: Greetings! On Friday, 28 May, 1999 the United Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Victoria celebrate their centenary. We are the second oldest Grand Mark Lodge and looking forward to warmly welcoming some 30 odd Delegations from about 11 countries, plus all States of Australia. HRH Prince Michael of Kent will be attending the celebrations which include the Grand Installation on the Friday; a Grand Spectacular (Banquet and entertainment) on the Saturday to be followed on Sunday morning by the Laying of a large Keystone in the forecourt of the Sofitel Hotel, Collins St. Melbourne, which for many years had been the site of the headquarters of Freemasonry in this State. In the afternoon a Drumhead Service of worship will complete the formalities. There are 117 Mark Lodges and 39 R.A.M. Lodges with 4800 Mark and 1400 Ark members. It should be a wonderful time.
Fraternal regards
John Turnbull, PJGW, Scribe of United Brunswick R.A.M. Lodge, No.14

Message: I am seeking Mason Historians. I come from a long line of Masons dating back to the 1600s in Northamptonshire England. I wish to find people who have researched this period who may be able to help my research for my book. I have traced my family tree back to the 1680s. The majority of the males of my family were all Master Masons and then Master Builders. I enclose a paragraph out of my research document which explains better.
"These trained Stone masons joined the Worshipful Company of Masons founded by Master Mason Humphrey Frisby in Weldon ca1640. My family may well have been the original founders with Frisby. The name change to Streather was to distinguish the Masons from the weavers and other occupations which they thought lesser professions. This Company of masons was the forebear of what we now know as the Free Masons. My father was also a Freemason. The Worshipful Company of Masons Insignia can still be found on No 11 High Street Corby Northamptonshire. This house was built by a William Streather in the late 1600s early 1700s and has been in the Streather family since then."
Do you or your fellow Masons have any idea on how to further the research into the Guild mentioned above.
I hopefully will receive a response,
Very Best Wishes,
Adrian Streather
Switzerland.
